Employment Supportive Services

ILP is also a community partner/contracted with Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) so that we can provide various employment services to individuals not on a waiver, as well as being able to assist individuals who are on a waiver during the "Find" stage of the employment process.

Independent Living Placement (ILP) is licensed to provide all employment stages through a Medical Assistance (MA) paid waiver (i.e., CADI, CAC, BI, DD, etc.). ILP is also a community partner/contracted with Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) so that we can provide various employment services to individuals not on a waiver, as well as can continue to assist individuals who are on a waiver during the "Find" stage of the employment process. That said, the Department of Human Services (DHS) has broken the employment process up into 4 different stages. Below you will find a flow chart on what these stages are and what services are provided during each stage:

Our team can work with an individual no matter which stage of the employment process the individual is in. For example, whether an individual is just starting to think about employment and wants to talk through barriers or options, is ready to find a job and wants to practice interviewing skills or has a job and is looking for continued support, our staff can assist. When working with individuals served, services can take place both in-person and/or done remotely via phone, email, and/or video conferencing.

As mentioned above, our team is also contracted with VRS. Through our VRS contract, we have been authorized to provide the following services:

  • Placement and Retention Services under a Performance Based Agreement (PBA)

  • DHS Background Checks for individuals served

  • Benefits Coaching

  • Driver's Permit/License Preparation and Training as an Accommodation

  • Employee Development Services

  • Employment Supports/Job Coaching for Short Term Job Supports

  • Informational Interviews

  • Job Seeking Skills Training

  • Job Shadowing

  • Job Tryout

  • On-the-Job Evaluation

  • Postsecondary Supports (Remedial Training or Services)

  • Rehabilitation (Assistive) Technology Training

  • Transportation with individuals served

  • Transportation Training (Public Transportation Training)
